The PAL is a collaboration of the three police departments in the Town of Ramapo being the Ramapo Police, Village of Suffern Police and the Village of Spring Valley Police as well as the schools located in the Ramapo and East Ramapo Central School Districts. This means, however, that the Ramapo Pal center will be closed when the schools have closed due to bad weather. We also have public liaisons that assist with programs. The programs will serve all of the communities within the Town of Ramapo.
The Ramapo PAL is an organization which provides athletic activities and academic support for the youth of the Town of Ramapo. The program has been dormant for the past several years but due to an increasing need to provide services that teach adolescents important skills required to be successful in life, the program is back in action. Due to cuts in school budgets, programs that help to engage adolescents in positive activities are dwindling. This is creating a void in opportunities for our youth which keep them off the streets and out of trouble.
Our activity center offers a full boxing program and we are currently completing our tutoring center, teen lounge, batting cage and indoor pitching area. We are developing a music room and art space as well.
There is a small fee of $40.00 to join for year. That covers activities and instruction, insurance, ID card and tee shirt.
